BRIC, your IT-partner
Over 230 bodies currently call upon the services of the BRIC.
As regards the services provided, priority is given to the hosting and maintenance of applications and multi-client, cross-disciplinary tools developed and/or gauged by the BRIC using generic solutions wherever possible in an Application Service Provider (ASP) environment using Internet functionalities. A few examples:
- Internet access for over 500 sites;
- Managing over 9,000 e-mail addresses;
- Hosting over 153 sites, including the regional portal (approx. 180,000 visitors/month);
- UrbIS digital mapping;
- Application development: IRISbox (on line exchange platform for intelligent forms), Chancellery (management of Council of Ministers' agendas), NOVA (management of planning permits), SINCRHO (management of hospital claims), etc.
- Monitoring the IRISnet broadband regional network: over 600 sites connected, including 32 Ministries and regional administrations, 30 local authorities and social service centres, 10 hospitals and close to 500 schools.
The BRIC supports the integration of new IT technologies and telematics for local authorities and provides specific know-how. For instance, local authorities can entrust us with the complete outsourcing of their IT activities. Examples are the Brussels environmental agency; the Brussels Port Authority; the Brussels fire brigade; the Brussels housing authority; the Schaerbeek, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe and Saint Josse local authorities, the Commission of the Flemish Community, the Commission of the French-speaking Community and the Ministry of the Brussels-Capital Region.
